We have all experienced a training session and wondered, “am I training at the right intensity and is this enough load?” Monitoring training load and intensity is a critical aspect of training and should be assessed routinely in training settings. Without monitoring these variables, athletes may be missing out on opportunities to develop their fitness to full potential. We would not let food cook on a stove without watching it and adjusting the temperature to cook to our desired texture. We should adopt the same mantra for training. How then can we do this?
