CSIO Welcome Minister McLeod, Olympic, and Paralympic Athletes for Phase One Reopening

Tuesday, June 2, 2020

The Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO) is excited to announce the reopening of the sport institute today. Ontario’s high performance athletes training for the 2021 and 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be able to get back to a regular routine thanks to the Government of Ontario’s amendment to the Emergency Order effective May 18th.

CSIO proudly welcomed Minister McLeod from the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism, and Culture (MHSTC) for the Phase One Reopening of CSIO’s Strength and Conditioning area. We also welcomed multiple Olympic and Paralympic athletes including: Sarah Douglas (Sailing), Piper Gilles (Figure Skating), Nikola Goncin (Wheelchair Basketball), and Kayla Sanchez (Swimming), to speak about their progress in quarantine, and the impact reopening has on their sport.
